Here are several ways to improve the condition of your throat, without consuming any artificial or damaging chemicals.

Propolis

Propolis or “bee glue” has antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and antiseptic properties which make it great for a sore throat. Also, it reduces swelling and pain and helps the immune system. Propolis is a red or brown resin that’s made by honeybees from tree buds and beeswax.

Usage: Prepare a mixture of 200ml of warm water and 40 drops of tincture. Drink the mixture twice a day.

Saltwater Gargle

This cure has been used for generations because it is helpful and effective. Saltwater reduces swelling and removes bacteria from the tissue walls of the throat.

Usage: Put 1 teaspoon of salt into 240ml of warm water. Gargle for 30 seconds and spit at least once per hour (don’t swallow).

Echinacea

This flower can be only found in central and eastern North America. It offers antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and wound healing benefits and that’s why it is used in herbal medicine. It contains a high amount of alkamides which boost the immune system.

Usage: Make echinacea tea. Use one to two teaspoons of leaves and petals per one cup of water.

Black Cumin Seeds

80g of Black or cumin seeds
250ml filtered water
1 Tbsp Cognac or whiskey

Usage: Pour 200ml of water over the cumin seeds and let it boil for 15 minutes. Your mixture should turn thick and black, strain it and add the rest of the water. Bring back to a rolling boil and add the 1 Tbsp of liquor. In the next two hours take 1 Tbsp every half an hour.

Zinc Lozenges

This mineral can be found in every cell that helps the body resist infection. Remember that taking zinc for longer than 5 days can have side effects.

Usage: Take no more than 5 lozenges per day in a period of 5 days.

Oregano Oil

Oregano oil has been used in natural medicine for decades. It has antifungal and antiviral properties.
Usage: Add 3 drops of oregano oil in a glass of water or juice. Mix them well and consume this drink once a day for a maximum of 5 days.
