<p>The oil that you&#8217;ll get is very powerful and you should use only 1-2 drops a day. You will also need a stovetop, a fire extinguisher, and ventilation.</p>
<p><strong>PREPARATION:</strong></p>

<p><strong>Step 1:</strong> Into a mixing bowl place the ground cannabis buds and leave an inch or two of space at the top of the bowl.<br />
<strong>Step 2:</strong> Completely cover the marijuana with solvent/alcohol.<br />
<strong>Step 3:</strong> Mix for about 5 minutes and make sure all the herb is being touched by solvent because that&#8217;s what dissolves the oils from the cannabis material into the alcohol.<br />
<strong>Step 4:</strong> Strain and pour the mixture through your strainer. The oils and resins you are looking for are in the strained liquid which should be a deep dark green.<br />
<strong>Step 5:</strong> Pour the liquid into the top pot of the double-boiler. Fill your bottom pot with water. Using a double boiler makes everything safer and allows you to slowly boil off the alcohol without burning off any of the cannabinoids.<br />
<strong>Step 6:</strong> Turn off heat when the liquid starts to bubble. Make sure there are no open flames near the solvent and avoid breathing in the fumes that solvents produce. Open your windows.<br />
It usually takes about 15-25 minutes before you are ready for the next step; mix everything with your silicon scraper because that helps evaporate the alcohol.<br />
<strong>Step 7:</strong> In this step continue to bubble away the alcohol and you might need to turn the heat back on low. Remember not to boil away the potency of your extract- keep the heat low!<br />
<strong>Step 8:</strong> When the liquid stops bubbling and become thick it means you are done. In the previous steps, you&#8217;ve washed the oil off the plant with alcohol, removed the rest of the plant material, and evaporated all the alcohol. Now, you have the oil.</p>
<p>It will get thicker as it cools and you must work quickly. Use the syringes because they separate the oil and dispense the right amount. You can mix your medicine with coconut or olive oil if you need a less potent dose.
