Apple cider vinegar (ACV) offers powerful antimicrobial properties without harmful chemical ingredients. ACV is at least as effective as store-bought products and this natural disinfectant is far superior and strong enough to handle any germy task. Remember not to mix it with baking soda as it neutralizes the acidity of the vinegar.

7 Apple Cider Vinegar Hacks To Clean Every Room In Your Home

  • Get rid of bathtub mildew

ACV can help you battle mildew in your bathroom. We recommend you to use a 1:1 mixture, diluting it with water, but for bigger problems, use ACV’s full strength and then spot scrub. In case the entire tub has a lot of mildew and other stains, pour three cups of ACV under running hot tap water and allow it to soak like that for at least four hours. After that, drain the water and the stains will keep easy to scrub off. You might want to add essential oils for a nice, fresh scent,

  • Glass shower doors and tracks

You can make your glass shower doors and tracks look shiny again by using 1:1 solution of ACV and warm water. Use a cloth to wipe them down and you’ll be surprised when you see that all of those frustrating water spots that seem impossible to eliminate are gone too.

The tracks of the shower doors tend to accumulate a lot of dirt and grime, but don’t worry. Fill up the tracks with two cups of undiluted ACV and leave it like that for at least 4 hours. Then, pour hot water over the tracks.

  • Your toilet

Disinfect your toilet by using full strength ACV. Just before you go to bed, pour in two cups of undiluted ACV and allow it to sit overnight.

  • Polish the silver

Use ACV to make that tarnished silver shine again. Soak your silver in a solution of a half cup of ACV and baking soda and let it sit for several hours. Rinse it under cold water, dry thoroughly, and it’ll be just like new again.

  • Deodorize the house

Persistent smells like smoke can be eliminated by simmering ACV in a saucepan on the stove for at least an hour. You may want to leave a bowl or two of full-strength ACV in the room if the odor is really powerful.

  • Get rid of candle wax residue

Most of the candle wax on some of your furnishings can be easily scraped off. However, the residue that remains is hard to remove but don’t worry, if you dampen a cloth with 1:1 diluted ACV and apply it to the residue, it won’t be difficult to rub away.

  • Water rings

By using full-strength ACV, you’ll get rid off water rings and your mom won’t be mad at you for not using the coasters.
