An antibiotic or antibacterial drug is a medicine that inhibits the growth of or destroys microorganisms. Antibiotic is a type of antimicrobial medication used in the treatment and prevention of bacterial infections. Antibiotics are not effective against viruses such as the common cold or the flu.

The term antibiotic means “opposing life” and its used to refer to any element or substance used against microbes. The term antimicrobial has the same meaning. The discovery of antibiotics transformed and revolutionized medicine at the beginning of the 20th century.

This enormous change in the medical paradigm was very effective in the fight against bacterial infection, but in the last decade or so, the easy access and overuse have led to abuse drug based antibiotics.

This overuse caused a worrisome rise of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, such as TDR- totally drug-resistant- a strain of tuberculosis, and Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus, infections most commonly affecting children.

It is very important to distinguish the infections with the help of a healthcare professional, and not to use antibiotics for bothersome everyday infections, but to turn to nature.

Nature provides some very effective and powerful alternatives for treating colds, skin infections, flu, and sinus infections.

Oregano Oil

The wild oregano oil is the most beneficial to maximize the healing antibiotic effect, it has dark yellow color with strong spicy odor.

It can be used to treat nail or foot fungus, parasites, and sinus infections

Cayenne Pepper

The main compound found in cayenne pepper is capsicum, a strong healing agent with antibiotic effect. It is effective in treating a sore-throat infection, feet fungus, but can even provide analgesic effect and ease a headache.

Garlic is nature’s most powerful herb with strong antimicrobial properties.

Its phytochemical allicin is a strong antioxidant and together with many minerals and vitamins provides numerous health benefits. It serves as prebiotic, keep the skin from sunlight damage and fights worms and parasites.

Scientists suggest consuming a whole garlic clove daily when in need of natural antibiotic effects and using a garlic oil for external skin infections.

Other plants with antibiotic effect are:

  • Ginger
  • Turmeric
  • Grapefruit Seed Extract
  • Echinacea
  • Olive Oil Leaf Extract
  • Calendula
  • Cinnamon Stick
  • Marshmallow Root
