Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh or 1/2 cup dried organic rose petals
  • 5 cups water

Directions:

In a saucepan add the petals and water, and bring to a boil. Simmer for 10 minutes and make sure the rose petals fade in color. Cool down the rose water and pass it through a cheesecloth or fine mesh sieve. Pour the pure liquid into a sterilized glass bottle. Store it in the refrigerator not more than 2 weeks.

Distillation

It is slightly more difficult to make, but it lasts much longer.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups fresh or 1.5 cups dried organic rose petals
  • Water
  • Ice

Directions:

Place a clean brick to the center of a large pot. Put a metal bowl on top of the brick and add the rose petals to the pot. Add enough water to come to the top of the brick. Over the pot place the lid, upside-down, and to speed up the process place some ice cubes on the lid.

Boil the water and allow to simmer for 30 minutes. Keep in as much steam as possible and before decanting the water into a sterilized glass bottle, allow it to cool. Keep it in the refrigerator for up to 6 months.
